Ann-Ya

I have always been a fan of paper marbling since young - filling a shallow tray with water, adding drops of ink before gently placing a sheet of paper on its surface for the magic to happen. I love the unpredictable results - swirls and wild patterns that used to give me a strange sense of satisfaction.

That’s why I was thrilled when I came across Ann-Ya’s marbled leatherware collection. Beautifully marbled leather, cut and stitched into gorgeous clutches and coasters by the very talented Anja Verdugo.

Really, really gotta have some, don’t you think?

Object Of Empathy

Objects of Empathy by Miya Kondo propose conceptual and aesthetic forms for everyday rituals with gesture, posture, handling and materiality.

The Joy of Books

This video by Sean Ohlenkamp and his wife really brought a smile to my face. In the age of e-books, we sometimes forget that there really isn’t anything like the real book. Enjoy these two magical minutes in the Type bookstore in Toronto!

Plus31

Copenhagen’s Ralph van der Made’s latest creation, Plus31 is a cabinet that gives you the flexibility to personalize it in more ways than one, whenever you want to. Made from layered oak veneer with different size sliding doors in different materials and with massive oak legs, it is one sturdy piece that will be perfect in any home.

Ralph wanted to create a piece that expresses playfulness, and that attracts people to interact with it. Designed for the Cabinetmakers Autumn exhibition, this prototype has already been exhibited at the Designmuseum Denmark and is now on show at the Trapholt museum till the 30th of April, 2012.

Who ever said that furniture couldn’t be fun?

Riusuke Fukahori and his way of painting goldfishes is truly amazing.
